Créer une tension, un équilibre précaire, un leurre, une fiction, détourner la fonction usuelle de l’objet banal au profit d’une nouvelle construction de sens, travestir l’objet et sa mise en espace, transgresser son caractère commun pour en dégager la valeur expressive et singulière. Par là, je souhaite amener le spectateur à voir autrement les choses, notamment par le biais de l’accumulation, de la série ou de la répétition d’un même motif, ou encore par la rencontre improbable entre des objets, déjouant sa reconnaissance du réel et ses habitus du regard. Des éléments sont souvent empruntés à la nature, produisant un rapport dialectique entre des formes organiques et industrielles, entre une volonté de circonscrire, de contrôler, et la force inhérente de la matière qui impose sa présence.

Creating a tension, a precarious balance, an illusion, a fiction. Deflecting the usual function of the commonplace object in favor of a new construction of meaning. Transforming the object and its setting in space. Transgressing its common character to unveil its singularity and its expressive value. By this, I hope to bring the spectator to view things differently, notably through the accumulation, the succession, the repetition of the same pattern, or by the improbable meeting between objects. Deflectling its recognition of reality and his habitus of sight. Elements are sometimes borrowed from nature, creating a dialectic connection between organic and industrial shapes, between the will to control and the object’s inherent strength which impose its presence.

 


Bio | Biography

Après un baccalauréat et une maîtrise en études des arts, j’ai obtenu un baccalauréat en arts visuels et médiatiques à l’Université du Québec à Montréal. J’ai participé à plusieurs événements et expositions collectives, notamment, en 2011, Estiv’Art, organisé par le Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides (Saint-Jérôme) et Art souterrain (Montréal). J’ai aussi obtenu une résidence à l’Atelier Graff, dans le cadre du projet Insertion pour la relève artistique. Depuis 2008, je suis coordonnatrice des symposiums internationaux d’art in situ des Jardins du Précambrien (Val-David, Qc). J’ai aussi parfois l’occasion d’écrire pour des artistes, des événements culturels, le Centre de diffusion d’art multidisciplinaire Dare-Dare, le Grave (Groupement des arts visuels de Victoriaville), les revues Inter Art actuel et Espace sculpture, ...

After a degree and a master in art studies, I finished a degree in visual arts at University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). I participated in several events and group exhibitions, including in 2011 Estiv'Art, organized by the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides (Saint-Jerome) and Art souterrain (Montreal). I also obtained a residence at the Atelier Graff within the project Insertion for emerging artists. Idealistic and curious, I combine travel and work experience. Since 2008, I am coordinator for the Jardins du Précambrien’s International In Situ Art Symposium (Val-David, Qc). I also have sometimes the opportunity to write for artists, cultural events, the Centre de diffusion d’art multidisciplinaire Dare-Dare, the Grave (Groupement des arts visuels de Victoriaville), the magazines Inter Art actuel and Espace sculpture, ...
